  • Star Trek: Phase II welcomes Jon Povill as the director for the upcoming episode "The Child", slated to begin production in October 2008. An exciting addition to the production, Jon is a notable Star Trek alumni, having worked as Gene Roddenberry's assistant and the story editor for the Paramount planned "Phase II" series in the late 1970's. Jon co-wrote the series bible for "Phase II" with Gene Roddenberry, and penned the original script for "The Child" with Jaron Summers.

In his book, he tells the personal story of his life, beginning with his childhood in a family dealing with the challenges of his schizophrenic father and the impact mental illness can have on family and careers. "This is truly an incredible story," said Executive Producer James Cawley, "We can all draw strength from John’s compassionate story of personal survival.
