Did you even read the “liner note” in the window for this episode? If you had, you might have noticed that TNG adapted it, not the other way around. And this one was infinitely better.

Uhura was not in every episode of ST:TOS. She is, however, in the other of these Phase II episodes. With these types of fan films, you use those you have available. If you were to watch the other episodes, you might not have had such a knee-jerk reaction to this one. Try World and Enough Time.

Hello from Australia, I am a fan of the work of this site checking in every week for the latest information. I am a little disappointed that the emagazine wasn’t continued but the quality of the production in each episode is brilliant.
Seeing familiar faces from the original series is a boon as well, it would be something to see William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in some of the episodes but that would be too much to ask.
I hope that future episodes will involve more space battles and actions sequences. Seeing the Enterprise and the Star Trek universe with the special effects it deserves, it would be good to see a variety of space craft from Star Fleet and alien races in combat.

I think it’s a fantastic thing you’re doing here, I’m a life long Trekkie (almost literally) so when I found out what was going on here I did a dance of joy and wanted to help out in the past but alas, was unemployed but now I’m not so… sent what I could this time of month from this side of the pond.

Seriously, loving this project. Loved ‘The Child’, as a kid that was one of my favourite TNG episodes but in many ways it worked better here. Fan productions aren’t a side of fandom I’m that familiar with but from what I know this seems far an out the best out there. I await eagerly for the next episode and hope this keeps going for a good long time.

Glad that there’s a bar chart, helps let ya know what area needs help the most.

Incredible… Both my father and myself are hooked. My only wish is that CBS would give you all sponsorship for network television broadcast. storyline and every thing and one around it are excellent. First, thanks for your offer to contribute! At the bottom of the “Helping” page, you will find a link to our forums where you will find “snail mail” information. Alternately, you can use PayPal as a guest and send an e-check (which’ll save you the cost of a stamp).

As for your story, it sounds intriguing, but I must be honest; we’ve got so much on our plates right now (episode-wise, upcoming stories, etc), that I’m not sure when or if we’d ever get the chance to visit other stories. That aside, if you still want, we do accept submissions – I’ll send you an email with instructions regarding that in a few minutes.

Gots a question. What if you don’t have, want, or even come in contact with a credit card? Is it possible to snail-mail it? ‘Cause honestly, I just found out about you guys a month ago and I’m hooked. J.J.Abrams is a director right? (wrong). I am an aspiring director, not out of highschool yet and I would like to contribute to this. Seriously, I have on been into Star Trek for a little over a month now, but I’m as educated as a life-long Trekkie. Like Sheldon (Big Bang Theory), I wrote my own Star Trek novel, yes NOVEL. 88 pages long, that divides up into 3 stories that could essencially provide you with 5 seasons with material. Now, if you made it this far, thank you. But you might just be thinking, ‘yeah, what does this kid know?’ Hear me out, the concept brings in a new charecter, that is something of Starfleets dark past. Genetically mutated genius kids put aboard star ships. I won’t give away anymore, I have had a few people read it, (including an editor) they all loved the idea. Its fresh and new, so if James Cawley is reading this, (or anyone else on Phase II, sorry I don’t know your names) and your interested. Hi Joseph, thanks for the offer. This was simply a little fun some of our crew members had that we thought everyone might enjoy. Generally, when it comes to the production of an actual episode, we’ve got a few history experts and near-experts that research such things – then, what ends up being shown on screen (again, during an actual episode) is what fits within our budget and what we have the means to acquire (rent/buy/etc). You’ll see evidence of that in, for instance, the “Buck Rogers Begins” footage on YouTube.

Watching this I can see the cast is in need of a period clothes for shoots like this. Also, a little bit more of an eye for the set dressing so it looks period. If you are interested in my help I’m spot on and have a lot of knowledge when it comes to getting the details perfect.

These are the best fan-made episode of Classic Trek I’ve ever seen! Everyone involved in this enterprise (no pun intended:) deserves Academy Awards for all their hard work and dedication to keep the magic of Star Trek alive, from the characters, to the sets, and all the props, to the stories themselves. Wrong – the TNG version was (if you want to call it that) the “cheap knock off” of the script originally written for the TOS crew. And heavily modified for that reason. Jon Povill (one of the co-authors of the script) wanted to see it done right, and revised the script for us – oh, and personally directed the episode.

just watched this ep 4 and it was pretty good . the one complaint I have on new voyages is that the writing tends to focus on sad things. you should try to do some more upbeat stories and endings.
for this ep the special effects were outstanding.
the girl who played elana did the best acting. and another thing she wasn’t in the end credits ! which just like mainstream tv if you want to know who played a particular role [ a major one], it isnt in the credits! only the minor characters are listed .
I can only assume elana was the one who was “introduced ”
dont be like regular tv , do the credits in a sensible way….or “logical” way , mr spock would approve.
for what it was though a well done show. good to see the real sulu do a role in one of these.
the next one looks to be depressing, but will give it a try, may have to bounce over it to the no win scenario.
glad your still making these , just think about making some more upbeat episodes.

Sorry, we are no longer releasing them for these current episodes. It made it too easy for those who were mass producing and selling our episodes (a big no-no) to have nice high quality DVD covers and labels. Sadly, a few miscreants have ruined it for everyone.

Watch the full episode – the Teaser isn’t a trailer – it’s actually the first act (which in Star Trek TOS’s case is “the cold open” – hence, it is called “The teaser” and followed by Acts 1 through however many). So, by watching the full episode, you get to watch the teaser (act 0) followed by the entire rest of it.

A perfect storm where brilliance meets love. While watching this, I realized that the cast, writers, camera crew, fx crew, sound crew, and myself, loves star trek so much, and understood the gravity of this script. Chekov made me laugh from his first line.

Bones, is that a relative of DeForest Kelley? I wish he woulda hammed up the Georgian accent a little, but there might be reasons he/they did not. I loved this, and will watch all the episodes, and thank you, to everyone involved, from the depths of my soul, thank you!
