New Sulu Takes the Helm

Actor J.T. Tepnapa joins the cast as Lt. Commander Hikaru Sulu, taking over the helm from John Lim who played Sulu in “World Enough and Time.” When asked about the role, J.T. stated, “It’s an amazing opportunity to play an iconic Star Trek character first realized by George Takei, who is a personal hero of mine. And after John Lim’s performance in “World Enough and Time,” I know I have big shoes to fill. I wish him the best in his career and am ready to take the reins myself. Thank you to James and Carlos who have made a personal dream of mine come true.”

In addition to being an accomplished film producer, Tepnapa has appeared in many award-winning plays, features, shorts and commercials, winning Entertainment Today’s Ticket Holder Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Spinning for Butter” in 2001.

“I have known J.T. for some time now and I believe that he has what it takes to be our Sulu,” said Executive Producer James Cawley, “I can’t wait to see his performace this June when he assumes the role of Sulu in our next episode.”
