Great Cast and stories!
This is my first Phase II experience. My feeling is that this episode does a good job capturing the essence of the original series. The little girl was adorable. But wouldn’t a little more emotion and melodrama have made the story more memorable? Remember Miri and Kirk in the “Miri” episode or his interaction with the kids in “And the Children Shall Lead”? If Kirk had been a little more caring in his scenes with the girl, getting at eye level with a few close up shots, the episode would have been much more effective. Remember that the original series used close up shots quite a bit for dramatic scenes. It’s not a crime to pull a little harder on our heart strings in a dramatic series. That’s what made TOS so good.
Thanks, guys! This has been a great discovery! Please keep making the shows.
It’s spooky how clveer some ppl are. Thanks!
Thanks to all of you! These are a wonderful discovery! The stories are well-rounded and the acting is great! THANK YOU for not trying to imitate the actors too much (nobody does Shatner like Shatner… let’s leave it that way… thank you for that) and making the character your own. Keep bringing them to us!
This place just keeps improving every time I see it. You should truly be happy.
Wow ! Danke !
Es ist einfach toll, neues von der Enterprise zu sehen !!
I’ve only recently discovered Star Trek Phase ii, and I love the episodes I’ve seen so far. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about seeing different actors/actresses playing the roles I’ve come to know and love, but I can say that you’ve all won we over! And the story lines have thus far been wonderful! World Enough and Time is by far the best episode I’ve seen so far. What an incredible performance by George Takai and all the crew! Truly a gut-wrenching story that brought more than a couple of tears to my eyes (and I usually cry at the movies).
just watched this ep 4 and it was pretty good . the one complaint I have on new voyages is that the writing tends to focus on sad things. you should try to do some more upbeat stories and endings.
for this ep the special effects were outstanding.
the girl who played elana did the best acting. and another thing she wasn’t in the end credits ! which just like mainstream tv if you want to know who played a particular role [ a major one], it isnt in the credits! only the minor characters are listed .
I can only assume elana was the one who was “introduced ”
dont be like regular tv , do the credits in a sensible way….or “logical” way , mr spock would approve.
for what it was though a well done show. good to see the real sulu do a role in one of these.
the next one looks to be depressing, but will give it a try, may have to bounce over it to the no win scenario.
glad your still making these , just think about making some more upbeat episodes.
Man! I enjoyed the episode, but I have to say that the acting is quite hammy with Captain Kirk topping the charts closely followed by Spock. When Kirk meets Sulu’s daughter he’s got more nudges, winks, and raised eyebrows than the three stooges, and the smirk on his face was just too much for me and couldn’t contain my merriment. I thought he was going to whip out at little black book and take down her number.. Anyway still enjoyable though some acting classes are definately in order.
I love that episode! I cried when Alana was gone. She was a great person! Poor Sulu.

But I’m glad that Demora named her babygirl after her dead sister.
That episode was way better than anything I’ve seen on the real classic show! Great casting and amazing script! ♥
Why is it I only just found this? OMG are you serious I think I am going to need a bigger hard drive!
My computer will not play the last half of this episode. Could someone tell me what happened? My computer locks up right after Sulu’s daughter exits what I would call quarantine. Thanks. – GC
Never mind. I found it on YouTube and watched it.
It is very good and of great quality. Bravo!
Hello love the site but is there a way to watch them on an iPad? I keep getting error messages that won’t let me download flash player. Please advise. Thank you
I loved this story, and call me a softy but I shed some tears too!
Christina (Marie) Moses was amazing in this episode, delightful to watch in every way!
I can only hope that someone there decides that her disintegration at the end of the episode wasn’t permanent and she returns to the cast in the future!
This is probably the 3rd time I have watched this episode and I have to say that I am always surprised how a show such as this one depends so heavily upon the guest stars to carry the story. In this case one of the “guest stars” is our own beloved George Takei. He did such a wonderful job; it must have been amazing to be able to work so closely with him. He must be as impressed with your productions as are the rest of us. Christina Moses (Sulus alt. daughter?) acted as well as she was stunning to watch.
What a FANtastic episode! I consider this the best of the episodes to date. Great story and the guest actresses are outstanding. Great to see George Takai as well. They also keep true to the STO canon and continuity into the movies. I enjoyed this and hope to see much more from the team as well as their acting skills mature. (It wasn’t until the second season of STTNG that the acting and stories gelled.
I just discovered the Phase II series. Episode 1 was a bit rough and the editing was shaky (and Kirk’s hair… oh, my, glad THAT improved). This episode was terrific! Really well written and the acting and editing have improved. I am now a fan!
I cannot believe there has not been more praise for this effort, to me this was an effort at least or if not above TOS…hopefully over time more people will appreciate this.
hmm…. I tend to think a Hugo and Nebula nomination are pretty high “praise” myself.
