you guys are the greatest !!! the real star trek down to the smallest details .
wow!
I’m really starting to envy James Cawley. First he gets to meet William Windom and Barbara Luna then he gets to make out with Barbara Luna probably the most beautiful woman to appear in Star Trek. Lucky S.O.B.
Another fine episode of the New Voyages: Phase II. I especially enjoyed the superior writing and Barbara Luna’s portrayal of Alersa, a villainess played with intelligence, malice and beauty. Bravo, Ms. Luna, and well done, Mr. Cawley and all whose names appear in the credits. I can’t thank you enough for caring to complete the original five-year mission of the Enterprise with professionalism and sacrifice on all your parts.
Thank you, James and Co. for continuing to bring new Classic episodes and keeping Gene’s vision intact. I started watching Star Trek in 1966 at the tender young age of nine and was hooked for life. I continue to enjoy Star Trek in all its’ forms – new timelines, animated, spinoffs, etc. – and at this time, you guys are not only bridging the gap between the final classics episode and ST:TMP but you are also bridging the long wait times between movies, i.e. Abrams is sure taking his sweet time. 2013? Really? Keep up the good work – every episode gets better – can’t wait for the next installment. Diehard fans really appreciate the time and effort all of you inject into this project.
Another grand example of what Trek should be when Loved for more than a cash Bova!
i one hdurnad percent agree with you star terk is thee most feeble minded showthat i have ever seen, you my good sir, area genius
About to swatch enemy: starfleet. Very excited. These phase 2 productions embody “trekkism”. Thank you from the bottom of my Andorian heart. LOL
It’s like I found a hidden cache of un-aired Star Trek episodes.
True to Gene’s vision, as far as good stories that have something to say.
Bravo…
Review by Paul D. Russ Jr. for Rating: This proudct is not a toy. It is a real energy drink with the Imfamis Title Romulan Ale. It Tastes great and was rare gift I could present to a fellow Trekker.
Wonderful episode!!! Great work… Loved the “Wilhelm Scream” @ approx. 31:+ when Alersa phasers the Eagle crewman. Nice touch, sound editor!
I and husband love catching ur work and husband is huge star trek fan.It makes his day getting watch Gene Roddenberry work been continued by fan.Keep up the great work.
Somehow, after being a classic Star Trek fan all my life, I just discovered you guys, and all I can say is “wow”. I’ve been watching the episodes in order, and have just finished “Blood and Fire.” Great episode, and I’m amazed how much you guys keep improving with every episode you produce. Even the acting is getting better (and I say that without a shred of criticism; it is obvious you guys are having great fun). The production values on all the episodes are great, but on Blood and Fire they really went through the roof. Any chance you can say what the budget on this episode was? I only ask because the sets look so great, and the special effects are really feature film quality (and in most cases better than the special effects in the Star Trek: Remastered series). I just can’t imagine what it takes to put these episodes together, but you all do a great job, and all I can say is, keep it up. I’m not a fan of the Abrams Star Trek, nor did I like Enterprise or Voyager, so this is my only quality Star Trek fix these days. I’ll keep watching ‘em as long as you keep making ‘em. And if Paramount ever decides to put another Star Trek series on TV it is my sincere hope they will come to your team first. You would make the most entertaining Star Trek series in years (hell, you already do).
And yet, if it weren’t for those later shows and the 2009 movie, the Star Trek franchise might have been dead in the water with no chance of revival. You should really be thanking Berman & Braga, as well as Abrams, for keeping Star Trek alive in the minds of the general public, as well as ensuring that there will be a supply of ‘the next generation’ of fans, so to speak, to help keep Star Trek alive, rather than be blasting the movie and the latter two recent series for not being like the original series.
Make no mistake; I love this fan show to bits, but that doesn’t mean that I have to hate the 2009 movie, Enterprise, or Voyager-all are equally a part of Star Trek, and are just as valid as the other. You need to be more open-minded and flexible.
Sorry – I disagree. I did enjoy Voyager, and to a lesser extent Enterprise – but JarJar Abrams’ abomination is not something I can tolerate, and rather than being a “lifeline” I consider it a poison pill for the kind of Star Trek that has meaning to me. Most of the fan productions I’ve seen – whatever their production quality – have seemed to me to capture the essence; it’s sad that the most recent “pro” attempt fell so emphatically on its face in that regard, choosing instead to pander shamelessly to the lowest common denominator. Given some of JarJar’s remarks that were made public before the film was released, I took the whole thing as him flipping the bird at those of us who’ve been fans for decades.

Don’t take this the wrong way I like star trek and star trek remastered etc.. and classic style star trek but that make out sean was a little gross for us younger viewers, the age different does matter I think, its one thing for a captian in star trek to make out with some young, but older grandma age, and a star trek captain to make out is gross to watch.. otherwise great epsoide, I am just being real here in any case on that subject……
I think you missed the whole “psychomorphic control” thing which Alersa uses to control her crew (and others) with.
Hi AnthonyJust found your web site with references to the New Voyages show, I am a big fan of this also, and am tirnyg to see if I can get UK support for the show here so as to get more UK and Europe fans. Would love to hear from you, so drop me an email with a reply address and maybe we can support the show from here and rally support.Chris
HEY gREAT SHOW I HOPE YOU GUYS STAY ON THE PROJECT. JAMES NICE PORTRAYAL OF JAMES T KIRK I LIKE THAT . YOU GUY’S BRING MY YOUNGER DAYS BACK TO ME LOL KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ..
Great Job!!! I am very impressed with the detail and dedication to Genes vision. Keep it up.
Thank you!
I watch your series again and again and am glad therefore a real Star Trek fan now I’m at my home all your episodes on DVD and, I should say just thrilled. Star Trek and their lives so far have all exceeded my expectations. keep it up and give us more of it. Best regards from Germany. HP. I hope it makes it even more for a long time. To say it with words of Spock: Fascinating. Live long and prosper
Kicka–. The eagle is badder than ds9′s defiant. They say that guy kirk is a bad mother, shut your mouth. Im just talking about kirk. I can dig it
I really like what you are doing. But would it be to much to ask James Cawley to dye and style his hair a bit more like JTK?
That’s really tough considering his Elvis gigs pay for the large bulk of our production expenses. His hair is normally sandy brown/blond (you can see his natural hair color coming out in some of the behind the scenes photos). And, his fuller hairline (than Shat’s “piece”) doesn’t style well to “mimic” TOS-Kirk.
He does a pretty good Kirk.
Only I think he over acts at trying to mimic Shatners over acting. He needs to be less self conscious about it. Then the swagger and dramatic pauses will come more naturally.
Great episode, and wonderful performances. Barbara Luna was magnificent! CG was top notch. The attention to detail in general is mind boggling.
I really enjoyed this episode. Editing was the best I’ve seen yet (haven’t watched The Child yet). I really felt that this was an episode of TOS moreso than even Blood and Fire. I do envy James Cawley though for being able to kiss Barbara Luna. She is still hot after all these years. Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see Kitumba (especially after reading the original synopsis in an old Starlog magazine that had an article about the first attempt at Phase II). I do have one question though. Where exactly can I get a copy of the music that was used at the part near the beginning right where the security chief gets hit with laser fire? I know it was originally from The Enemy Within and was used a lot during the series (as was all the music) but I have yet been able to find it.
two words…THANK YOU!
I have to agree with another poster, finding these episodes is like opening up a dusty old vault and find undiscovered TOS series still in the can!!! Bravo to the devoted fans who obviously poured their love into this series! You deserve so much credit and so much more! I don’t know how you do it, because you must have jobs and family outside of this—I mean, how do you do it! I can not praise you enough for what you do! Thank you!
I finally figured out that Barbara Luna was Marlena in Mirror, Mirror. Much younger of course but still looking good here.
