About the Author

Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II is an award-winning independent webseries that produces new episodes of Classic Star Trek. Continuing the fourth and fifth seasons of the original series, we film the untold stories of the U.S.S. Enterprise, Captain Kirk, and his crew with the intention of filling in the missing years of the original five year mission, and bridging the gap to Star Trek: The Motion Picture. We are a group of fans who have come together with a common love for the classic era Star Trek for the purpose of having fun while making new episodes. It is the goal of Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II to support and promote the CBS/Paramount Star Trek franchise by giving fans an active way to continue their interest in Classic Star Trek.
Honestly, I like the idea. Although, you should use different cameras or something that will give it that old look and feel. Secondly, I also don’t think it is a good idea to use the characters from the original series. Make up new characters and adapt the old scripts to the new characters. Other than that, it is excellent. The idea is easily good enough for a high budget network show. I always wished someone would make another series based on the old original series. You guys also did excellent with the set and uniforms. I just wanted to give a little constructive criticism. I think if you made those small/moderate changes it would help remove that independent film look. I like the current cast, they just need their own characters and persona, Thanks!
I have always had to fantasize about what it would be like to see the Original Star Trek without the old “vintage” look. Please do keep it looking as if I can step right into its REALITY. As if I can meet real people, they have yet to be even born! Why would I see them as men of olden times (like a daguerreotype or a misty dream). The old camera gave that look; yes, some scenes and some episodes I guess it would be cool, but the fact that I see the old uniforms in the “new light” of today’s life makes it priceless–real–not a motion picture movie.
I love what Enterprise series did with tying in Star Trek history to make a bond of generations: Noonien Soong’s grandfather, Khan’s brethren, a VERY young T’Pau. It would be great if this series continued to do so with a few other characters.
For, I’ve always wondered about other run-intos with Gary Seven, and seeing his alien technology. The Enterprise being swept into say 500 years into a future Federation and what the world would look like then. I have a whole portfolio of uniforms, insignias, ships & technology perfect for the ST universe, that would stun and put the current ST creative crew to shame. So much that lots of my thoughts of how things should look and happen ended up showing in a movie or show! So I would know.
I also like the idea of what they had in a cartoon, where the landing party had force field belts instead of space suits to help them on a lifeless ship. Maybe it could be a prototype technology Scotty wanted to try out and wanted to introduce to Starfleet if it worked in a real scenario, but Starfleet kept it on the backburner, so we continue to use the suits.
TOTALLY disagree. Making the stories about the original cast gives a solid connection to the original series. Using different characters and settings would just make this another ST:TNG. As far as the cameras are concerned, don`t you think that if the producers of the original series had had access to this technology they would have used it? Of course they would! The “look” of the original series is just the limitations of the technology at the time. The sets, as you say are excellent, as well as the costumes (very nice work James, W.W.T. would be proud) I say you guys are doing fine, keep it up!
Oh and I also wanted to say good choice for your Vulcan. He looks like the Spock from the New Star Trek movie, which I was a little skeptical on at first but he grew on me.
Wallpaper.html website is down, no site their just to let you know that link does not work, looking forward to the rest of the shows, release soon I hope for Kitumba, it seems we have had to wait a long time to see the rest of these shows, from the preview it looks great looking forward to this and the rest too
Hi, I’ve adjusted the wallpaper link until I manage to get them all back online. Thanks.
Sorry to say they are not. I went to “wallpaper” page and it’s just a comment page with no wallpapers. Click on the “Desktop Wallpaper” link and it just comes back to the same page. Says “Coming soon” but that was months ago. Are there actually going to be any wallpapers?
What I’d really like to have are DVD covers for ALL episodes. I have some and they are great but some I’ve had to make up on my own and they aren’t all that good.
Sorry, we are no longer releasing them for these current episodes. It made it too easy for those who were mass producing and selling our episodes (a big no-no) to have nice high quality DVD covers and labels. Sadly, a few miscreants have ruined it for everyone.
Hi, I’m back for my own commentary on the efforts of the group…
I have to applaud ALL of you that work so hard to make this a reality!! I know it must be a tiresome yet joyful “enterprise” (pun intended) in keeping the original vision alive today. Things have come a long way already and seeing some of the changes and improvements is a real wonder. I had some doubts when a few of the early editions were awash with repeats of some of the old humor we all came to love at the time. However, they did start getting a bit stale and I was constantly hoping for some new material to appear. Those doubts were overshadowed, however, when George Takei was brought on board in “World Enough and Time. I compare that episode to “The Wrath of Kahn” in its sheer drama value alone.
Keeping in mind my last comment above, I would also like to suggest that there are still several plots from the old series that have yet to be wrapped up. Just as Kahn was resurrected from “Space Seed,” (to create what I firmly believe was the greatest of all Trek productions) so can you now contemplate a sequel to episodes like “A Piece of the Action,” “For the World is Hollow,” and let’s not forget “I Mudd” and several others. I personally like the concept of Klingons visiting the planet from “The Apple” and stealing the technology that would allow them to control climates of entire planets and subjugating the populace there.
Keep up the good work!
Razor sharp and crystal clear. Definitely excellent artwork. I LIKE IT!!!
You are missing episode 2 and 3 posters.
No, they aren’t missing – I just haven’t gotten to them yet. Soon though…
Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance. I must say you’ve done a fantastic job with this. Also, the blog loads super quick for me on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
