DIRECTOR J.J. ABRAMS' REIMAGINING OF THE LEGENDARY ADVENTURE SOARS ONTO DVD AND BLU-RAY
Mini-Review by Robert Mauro
A FULL REVIEW WILL BE COMING SOON
The new Star Trek® (2009) Movie has garnered a lot of attention both before and after it's theatrical release. To date, it's been a $375 MILLION Worldwide success, helping to reinvigorate the Star Trek franchise.
Even as successful as it is, it has spawned numerous debates; there are fans who think this is TOS as it should have been, there are fans who think this is TOS as it was (or would have been if Desilu and Paramount had a bigger budget back in the 1960's),
there are fans who think it was a great movie but not quite Star Trek TOS and fans who think it fits perfectly into the TOS universe (or TOS alternate reality).
Whatever camp you may fit into, the fact is that Star Trek (2009) has reignited interest in the Star Trek franchise in a way nothing has ever done before. And it has done so in a way that does not invalidate the episodes and movies past. Instead,
it allows Star Trek fans to enjoy both sets of adventures side by side (while enticing an entirely new fanbase to the franchise). Many a fan are realizing they can indeed enjoy both the new Star Trek movies - and the old - at the same time.
That aside, the new Star Trek (2009) movie has become a part of Star Trek history, and I doubt any true Star Trek fan would not want to make it a part of their collection. With a ton of Bonus Features, and a look at compelling deleted scenes that
reveal a side story involving Nero with a first-ever look at Abrams' version of the infamous warrior Klingons, it becomes a MUST HAVE for everyone.
This Blu-Ray Set or DVD Set is the perfect addition to any Star Trek fan's collection, and (considering it's huge success and the high demand the Klingon scenes will create) something worth pre-ordering now to ensure you get a copy.
